A Very Lame Entry

Ugh. Another weekend shot to hell. The weather was apparently perfect, which is a rare thing around these here parts lately, what with the globe warming and Jesus working with his travel agents on a package deal to come back to earth once more, and the four equestrians saddling up. As someone at work told me the other day after the latest round of earthquakes or floods or whatever disaster struck most recently, it is the end times.

So, one more beautiful weekend closer to the Rapture, where all the goodie-goods will mysteriously vanish but I will almost certainly be left behind (and dibs on the goodie-goods' wallets, btw), and I sat on the sofa all damned day doing nothing. When Zeeba is here, we sometimes lounge around the apartment all morning, reading and drinking coffee and watching mindless television... but then we usually also eventually venture out into the day. Last weekend we went for a walk in the woods, did a little shopping, picked up some wine and other delicious treats for a carpet picnic, and ended the day watching Enchanted and Sweeney Todd. And I won't even go into how we spent the next day. But it was seriously one of the best weekends ever. With Zeeba, I am everything I ever wanted to be.

Without her, I am pathetic.

But not as pathetic as these non-jokes:

You might be a redneck if...

...you display the characteristic attributes and behaviors of a redneck.

Your mama is so fat...

...she's at risk for heart disease and diabetes.

Knock knock!

Who's there?

Open the door and find out.

What time is it when an elephant sits on your fence?

6:30.

Q: How many psychiatrists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

A: One.

Q: What did the deaf, blind, crippled Down's syndrome kid get for Christmas?

A: Cancer.

Okay, fine, so that's two shitty entries in a row. I'm a little out of practice. Besides, if I hadn't slept on the couch all day, maybe I could have put a little more effort into it. Let's hope that tomorrow is better.
